I think this the first picture of my boobs on tumblr ever. Really, I just wanted to show off the very first knitting project I ever completed. I finished in April but I never got around to posting it. I figured I’d get a better picture eventually, but that never happened, so here it is!

I crocheted a tiny bike! It’s only 3 1/2” long! I used this pattern, if you’re interested. I had to take a break from the knitting.
Sorry I haven’t updated you guys on my life lately. I’ve been pretty stressed out so I haven’t really been in the mood. It’s just a bunch of little stuff but after a while, the little stuff starts piling up, you know?

I found a great knitting site! Every week she posts a new stitch pattern with a photo and a video on how to make it. I’ve learned so much from her already! I get so excited when I realize the weekend is here and I get to check for her newest addition to the site.
So, after searching forever for a tutorial or pattern for a knitting needle case for interchangeable needles, I finally decided to design my own. I knew it needed to have separate pockets for the cables and somewhere to keep the needle pairs so this is what I came up with! The pocket accordion velcros to the front of the first needle pocket flap and that one has velcro keeping it secured to the needle pocket in back. That one is sewed to the case itself and has an extra pocket behind it. I also put in a small pocket for tiny things in the back of the last cable pocket.
(Pocket no longer sounds like a word to me.)
The whole thing is made out of felt, with the outer case reinforced with that plastic mesh people sometimes cross stitch on. It’s a simple design but it’s working out perfectly! I’m super proud of it.
Sorry about the ‘SkillzMcFly’ url stamped all over the pictures. I was having fun with that font and I went overboard. I love that it looks like those plastic labels though!
They need to make these again!

Do the magic loop method! This pleases me.
I got my KnitPicks Options interchangeable knitting needles today and they’re gorgeous. I couldn’t be happier! They’re so shiny and chrome like (they’re actually plated in nickel) and the cables are nice and bendy with the joints being wonderfully smooth. This was a great pick. Thank you for talking me into them 2sigma! I am literally buzzing with joy over these. I would have been so upset if I’d spent the extra money on the Addi needles and didn’t like them. These are perfect. My only complaint it that they don’t have sizes 1-3 but it doesn’t seem like any sets do. I have double pointed needles for that if it comes down to it though.
Squee! I’m going to go play with them now!
Ok, I cut the giant dowel to make the knitting needles. Now I just have to figure out the best way to sharpen the points. I might have to break out the dremel and risk Evie freaking out at the noise.

I really tried to read this post. Then I just kind of got a glazed look and had to stop. You are so over my head with the yarning and the crafting and the 24”, 29”, 32” talk.
Hahaha. I’m buying circular knitting needles, which are just like regular knitting needles but they have a cord attaching the two needles to increase the amount of area you have to keep your stitches on. You can knit back and forth on them to create a flat piece of work, or in the round to create a tube, which is especially good for sweaters and whatnot. Knitting back and forth on a 40” cable, or example, will give you around a 40” or larger length of knitted fabric vs using 14” straight needles. You can also knit a tube with double pointed needles, which are needles that have a point at both ends, and when you connect them with yarn, they make a circle. The problem is they’re only so big. They’re good for socks and hats and narrow things.
When I started knitting, I had no idea I’d need so many different needles. I didn’t even know circular needles existed. As it turns out, a lot of people love them and it seems like every pattern I like calls for them. The pain in the ass is the craft stores around me don’t carry enough single needles and the full sets they have are the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality. I also really like having full sets of things. I don’t like it when I want to make something and I don’t have the supplies or tools needed. When I decide to make something, it’s always spur of the moment and if I need to wait to get the right tools, the moment will pass and I won’t start it.
Right now I’m debating on buying gigantic needles to make things like this:

They’re pretty expensive though. $17.50 for one set of needles. But what if I need them? lol

Does anyone know where I can get wool or wool blend yarn on a cone? I want to be able to dye my own and finding cones of yarn is hard. There’s such a range of prices! I’m hoping for fingering or sport weight but I’m not picky if that’s not available. Any ideas?

Why Addis? I told my mom to get Addi Clicks because I heard they were good, and now I feel bad because neither of us likes them. The joins aren’t very smooth. Knitpicks has a 15% off needle sets sale going on right now—I really like my KP, and I highly recommend them. If…
No! Don’t tell me that! Really, I want them because they have 16” cables on top of the normal sizes. I haven’t come across another set that includes them. Are they needed though? I just don’t want to spend a bunch of money on needles and find out I don’t have a size I need. I’ve heard so many good things about them and now I’m worried. They’re so much money and if they’re not that great, I don’t want to spend the money on them.
Honestly, I don’t know what 16” ones are used for. Could I just use dpn’s? I’m cool with that. Honestly, I really like dpn’s better but everything I come across calls for circular needles. I just want to be able to make the pretty patterns I come across. If 16“‘s are useless as long as I have dpn’s, I totally go the knitpicks route.
The problem is I taught myself how to knit and I don’t know a lot of things yet but I feel like if I don’t have the right tools, I won’t ever learn. Everything I come across calls for circular needles I don’t have! I have like 6 circs and they’re all 29” because that’s all Michael’s had and you know what I found out? Nothing calls for 29” ones! They always call for 24” or 32”!
My never ending knitting. Sorry about the bad lighting but it is 1:18am, which means it’s far too late for me to care.

Dawwww! Whosabooboobaby? Yooooare! Yesyooooare.

Omg… this is just too adorable.
