GOOD LUCK! <3 I can’t wait to see who wins!
I don’t think I’d get to name it anything! Evie would be the one naming it once it was finished! She loves Bunnies so much and I’m sure this would end up becoming an honorary member of her Bunny Clan that she’s collected.
I showed her the picture and asked her what she’d name it and she decided “Flower Bunny”. Not the most original name, but it works! I’m sure she’d end up calling her Flower for brevity’s sake. lol

The pattern is up on Ravelry and Craftsy! I’m going to be adding it to my etsy store right now, so give me 15 minutes and you can buy it there instead, if you want.
This is it guys! My very first crochet/amigurumi pattern! Notice it has a black stopper too! (That was harder than the flask!) Ok, it’s not the patten technically because I haven’t typed it up yet but I’m about to do that right now. I only have one problem… Flat Bottomed Boiling Flask Amigurumi doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. I can’t think of anything to name it though. I kind of wanted to keep the name within the description of what it is, instead of naming it something like Joe… Do you guys have a better name?
of my crochet thing have been taken. Normally this wouldn’t have happened until Evie’s nap but she was begging me to play with it and I couldn’t let her touch it until they were done. Her hands are clean now but this kid exudes dirt and sticky. I don’t know where it comes from!
She knew what it was, too. You guys might have guessed after that one post yesterday but I made a flat bottomed boiling flask amigurumi (inspired by this amigurumi, which sadly, wasn’t my pattern). It’s adorable. I just have to edit the pictures and I’ll post them. She saw it this morning and said it was her formula. Then she pretended to pour it on me and turn me into a dragon. Friggin kid man. She constantly surprises me.
I whipped up a little bunny for Evie tonight. She went to the bouncy place today and a boy hit her in the face, so she was kind of upset. Her grandma took her, so I have no idea what actually happened but I figured this would cheer her up. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish it before she went to bed, and by tomorrow she’ll have forgotten about it but it’ll still make her smile.
I want to buy a set of circular needles because I have the money and if I don’t do it now, I never will. The book I’m learning from (Stitch’n Bitch, The Knitter’s Handbook) has three different sizes it says I should buy, along with straight and double pointed needles, but I can’t buy all three circular sets right now. She says to buy a 32” set, a 24” and a 16” set.
What length should I start with? I’m assuming that depends on what I want to make but I want to make all the things! I especially love amigurumi, but I can usually crochet those. I do want to make sweaters for my daughter and myself and socks for my husband though. I already have a two sets of double pointed needles: size 2 and size 8.
Should I just get a 9 inch set of double pointed needles? Uhg… I don’t know. Help a new knitter out?
I wish this had a pattern!
It’s up!
Get it before it’s gone! The brain slug (with the headband) I made will be posted at 6pm in my etsy shop and I have no idea how long it will be there (because I’m pretty sure Etsy will pull it since it’s a copyrighted show)! The brain slug was just going to sit in a box so it might as well go to a good home!
Get the word out!
This is that turtle amigurumi I was complaining about. It turned out pretty well, actually. I did have to stuff marbles in its back feet so it wouldn’t fall on its face though. If you want the pattern, it’s on raverly.com. Just search for “Tiny Striped Turtle”. I’m too lazy to find the link right now.
I made a little whale too. That pattern is on plantetjune.com. I think I should have made him a different color. He kind of looks like a deformed sperm to me. lol
I was going to tell everyone about the Erlenmeyer flask being listed for sale but I figured I’d give the only person to message me about buying it the first crack at it and they bought it! So guess what pattern I bought! lol. I wonder… hahah. I can’t wait to get it emailed to me so I can start on GingerSpice’s son’s Christmas present!
I made a turkey for tomorrow! I might not be excited about the holiday but I have to at least fake it for Evie. She loves this little guy.
I’m going to be listing my Erlenmeyer Flask in the next couple minutes too! (Exciting day for me! lol)
I need this (or the pattern) in my life! Sadly, the person who made it doesn’t have either in her etsy shop at the moment. Maybe I can talk her into selling me the pattern eventually anyway.
How cute is this guy? Technically, it’s a crocodile but I’m sure if I crochet it in a darker color, it would pass as an alligator for a certain someone’s little boy, right?
(Click through if you want the pattern too.)
I have a problem. I can’t stop making these guys. Each one takes about a day to make and they’re so cute so I can’t help myself! Evie’s not getting her (usually dirty) little hands on this one though. This one is for me. I put it next to my 50ml Erlenmeyer flask for scale but I just realized that most people probably don’t know how big one of those is…. so 5 inches. That’s the height of my guy.
When I was taking my chemistry classes at UB it took everything in my power not to take my flasks and beakers home because there’s just something about them that I love. I never did (in case you want one for yourself, Niagara Hobby sells them at a reasonable price) but I did almost kill myself with an unknown reaction after not washing a test tube out well enough and then I pouring 12 molar ammonia in it. That’s a story for another day though.
