I don’t think I’d get to name it anything! Evie would be the one naming it once it was finished! She loves Bunnies so much and I’m sure this would end up becoming an honorary member of her Bunny Clan that she’s collected.
I showed her the picture and asked her what she’d name it and she decided “Flower Bunny”. Not the most original name, but it works! I’m sure she’d end up calling her Flower for brevity’s sake. lol

I’m sure you all remember Bunny-gate. We assumed it was at the Bounce place because my dad took her there and then realized the Bunny was gone when he got to his house. We had Bounce Magic looking for Bunny and they launched a facebook campaign to find her, offering a free pass for a month to whoever brought the Bunny in, no questions asked.
I asked my dad if he was sure it was there. He was positive. I asked him a few more times when no one found the Bunny and he swore up and down that the Bunny was not at his house.
Eventually, we all gave up and we ended up finding another Bunny on Ebay for $30. We got it for Evie and lied to her about where it came from and she bought it. She thought she had her Mama Bunny back. She was so happy.
Tonight, as Eric was leaving to go to his friend Spike’s house, guess what was sitting on our railing, smelling an awful lot like my dad?
The original Bunny.
Eric and I stood there looking at if for a full 5 minutes before we figured out what to do (or rather, decided to just give it to her). So we both walked into her bedroom and showed her what we found. Thank god we have a little girl who is too smart for her own good. She was overjoyed and instantly announced that the new Bunny was from the future. The future.
I’m glad she’s happy but now I’m going to have to talk to my dad tomorrow so I can find out where the hell he found it and so Evie can thank him. I haven’t really been talking to him for a while now but every once in a while he’d pick up Evie to go do something. That ended after he called me and told me to watch a show on drug addiction because he thought “it could help me figure out how to get help”. Eric was rightly pissed and told him to give the whole calling us thing a break. Talking to him is going to be a messy engagement and I’m not looking forward to it.
At least Bunny is home.
The cuteness! I almost can’t handle it.
I whipped up a little bunny for Evie tonight. She went to the bouncy place today and a boy hit her in the face, so she was kind of upset. Her grandma took her, so I have no idea what actually happened but I figured this would cheer her up. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish it before she went to bed, and by tomorrow she’ll have forgotten about it but it’ll still make her smile.
She completely believes the new Bunny is the old Bunny and her parents just used special Bunny shampoo to make her clean again. She was so happy!!! Ah, the wonders of the internet! Seeing he smile like that melted my heart!
She also informed Bunny that she better never leave without telling her again. Adorable.

Evie started talking about her Bunny and how much she missed her out of nowhere today and it just broke my heart. She was saying how the Bunny needs to come home because the Bunny misses her and how she lost it at the Bouncy place and all these terribly sad things so we broke down and found a new one on Ebay.
$35. It hurts to pay that much but it’s worth it.
I’m going to write up a letter from Bunny, telling Evie where she’s been for so long and why she’s so clean. Hopefully she buys it and believes it’s really her Mama Bunny. I think I’m going to say she went to visit her parents and while she was there they gave her a special Bunny bath to make her super white again. Lame, I know. I’m thinking that’s the best story because Evie can relate to missing her parents though.
Then I’m going to put a stamp on it, “postmark” it with one of my stamps and bring it in from the mailbox tomorrow. When the Bunny finally gets here, I’m going straight to Walmart or Petsmart and getting a tag etched to tie around her neck, just in case the unthinkable happens again.
Do you think I should hand write it or type it up in a bunny font whatever that is, assuming I find one?
Bounce Magic has gone so far above and beyond to help us find Bunny that it melts my heart. They’ve posted about it on their facebook wall, the one worker there (Steve) stayed two hours after they closed on Wednesday night looking for Bunny, even after Eric was there for an hour and a half doing the same thing earlier in the day (with Steve’s help) and now they’re offering a free monthly pass as a reward!
Tomorrow they’re going to call all 45 people who came there on Wednesday to ask if they’ve seen Bunny or if someone accidentally “adopted” her. (You have to sign in and put your phone number down just in case when you get in.)
I really can’t believe there are still companies out there willing to go the extra mile like this. Evie loves her Bunny with her whole heart and I think Steve understood that. It helped that he told Eric about his own daughter and her well loved Teddy Bear, I think.
I hope someone has Bunny and they bring her back. I would love to see the joy on Evie’s face when she gets to see her again.
(Click through to check out their facebook page. This is the second post they published about Bunny and I -under Eric’s name- just put up two pictures so they know what to look for.)
Eric didn’t find the Bunny. He had a guy that worked there helping him look in every fold of every bounce house to no avail. Eric even made an announcement to all the people there about the lost Bunny and how he’d pay anyone who found it $20 and while he said there must have been 25 kids and 15 adults looking, no one found anything. He did get a lot of sympathy from the mothers there though.
He told the guy working to call him anytime, day or night, if it’s found. I guess they deflate all the bounce houses every night to clean so maybe…?
I honestly think maybe a kid took it home.
If Evie had some random toy, I’d ask where she got it, but that’s me. If a kid did take it, maybe the parents didn’t notice.
Eric put two signs up advertising a monetary reward so maybe someone will see it and realize the importance of Bunny.
I honestly think I’m sadder than she is. Thankfully we bought a second Bunny back when we realized how important it was (and before they took them out of stores) so it’s not like she has nothing but it’s not the Bunny either. It doesn’t have as much love worn into it.
Has anyone read the Velveteen Rabbit? Evie’s Bunny was a real as it gets.
They went to the bounce place and they were gone for a really long time so when they came back I expected Evie to run to me and give me hugs with a smile on her face but instead, I saw a sobbing Evie run through my door.
They lost her Bunny! My dad tried making it sound like it wasn’t his fault because “it’s hard to keep track of what she does with it” but that’s bullshit. She’s brought that Bunny everywhere she’s gone since she was born and we’ve never lost it. We know how much that Bunny means to her and so does he. He just didn’t remember to make sure she had it when they left.
They went back to look to no avail and he left his phone number in case they find it but Eric and I don’t trust the employees there to look very hard and I don’t trust that my dad did a good job either, so Eric just went back there. He’s going to search in ever crease and corner of that place.
She’s so sad and it’s breaking my heart. I want to cry too. That little Bunny is her best friend and now she’s gone. She keeps telling me she “feels bad” and then starts sobbing again. I hope Eric finds it because I don’t even want to think about the tears that will come at bedtime without her.
She’s been holding a picture of Bunny since she got home and every so often she looks down at it and cries.
She’s three. When you take her somewhere, you have to pay attention to her Bunny. It’s like she lost her best friend, her security blanket and her healer of boo-boos all at once.
God I hope he find it….

I just had to put this here so I won't forget it.
At sewing? Well I just did some amazing Bunny nose reconstructive surgery and I gotta say, I did a hell of a job. This was all under the watchful and tear filled eyes of Evie, the most guilt ridden three year old I’ve ever laid my eyes on. It was a complete accident mind you, but I don’t think she’d cry that much if she pulled the top half of my nose into a dangling loop.
I’m glad I could fix it. Hearing her cry like that broke my heart but the happiness after he was all fixed was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.
We went to my dad’s house after Eric got out of work today because my dad hid a bunch of eggs in his back yard for Evie to hunt. She had a great time and ended up with a ton of quarters and of course, a stupid amount of chocolate in the easter basket at the end of the egg trail.
This is the basket she’s getting from the easter bunny tomorrow morning. There are 6 big eggs in there that have a different Littlest Pet Shop in each one, mixed with the other eggs filled with chocolate and candy. I thought that was such a cool thing. They were hidden in the back of Target, in the holiday section and there was a ton of them left! I wanted to get her some little animals but they were really picked through in the toy aisle. I was so happy when I found these!
I love that picture of Evie, eating her giant chocolate sucker, but I had my camera’s white balance set to fluorescent while I was taking pictures outside under natural and tungsten light and now I can’t get the color right in it for the life of me. I’ve been screwing around, trying to color correct for a half hour now and I’m no closer than when I started. Oh well. She still looks adorable.
Happy Easter everyone!
This cute little bunny ring was inspired by my daughter and her beloved Bunny! (And Easter, of course.) She got Bunny before she was born (at my baby shower) and he ended up being the first thing she ever smiled at! Ever since then, Bunny has never left her side. We even managed to pick up another one just in case the unthinkable happened.
It works out perfectly with her birthday too! This year her birthday lands 6 days before Easter.
I’m also selling them on Etsy with all the proceeds from the ring going into Evie’s savings account. Help a little girl go to college! I can’t even imagine what it’s going to cost when she’s 18…
We forgot both of her bunnies at my dad’s house. Evie’s head is going to explode. Eric is driving back to get them right now. I hope he get’s back soon!
This was why we bought 2 bunnies in the first place but she got attached to both of them, calling one Mama Bunny and the other Daddy Bunny. Maybe I can find another one online…
I keep this little bunny on my desk because it reminds me of Evie and her bunny. It’s only an inch tall and she keeps on trying to steal it from me! To be fair, it was hers to begin with but since I’m the mom, it’s mine now! Mwah haha!
